Real bamboo (not clumsy cane!). «Glowbal» globe lamp- shades, with cotton fabric (instead of flimsy paper). «Glowform», tall and unique.
Where ceiling height permits, large lampshades generally look better than small. When in doubt, over-scale. For bamboo lampshades, for best results we recommend the use of 95mm globe-shape lamp bulbs.
Please use energy-saving lamp bulbs wherever possible. 25W energy-saver lamp bulbs in globe 95mm diameter are available and provide equivalent light to normal 120W bulbs for 20% cost to you and our environment. These bulbs also last about 10 times longer!
You can use energy-saving lamp bulbs in any of our lampshades.
95mm globe lamp bulbs will not fit into Glowbal 30cm, or any of our Glowform lampshades – but you can use other commonly available energy-saver lamp bulbs.
All our lampshades are hand made from natural materials and in the most earth-friendly – and people-friendly – ways!

Bamboo is a fantastic natural material. It is the fastest growing woody plant on the planet (actually not a tree but a kind of grass).
Bamboo grows easily – some as much as a metre a day!
As it grows, bamboo absorbs more carbon dioxide than trees and gives out more oxygen.
Bamboo can be cut with no long-term damage to the plant. Bamboo is light and immensely strong.
Each one of these lampshades is hand built by craftmaker in Muñoz Philippines. Expect personality!
