Jute has a number of advantages over some other fibres and one of them is how well the fibre receives colour dyes.
Unfortunately, that very same advantage becomes a disadvantage if ever the jute is accidentally dyed – for example if a coloured liquid has spilled on it (such as red wine; beetroot) – or if a jute rug becomes very dirty.
It is extremely difficult to remove colours that have been accidentally spilt on jute. In all probability such spillages or embedded dirt can not be cleaned off.
Use these jute rugs both ways up and vacuum both sides often to keep your rug clean.
